Install

Download the LocaleReady zip from your account and upload it in WordPress.

You need an active license and access to the WordPress admin for the site.

Requirements

  • PHP 8.1 or newer. That is what the licensing client ships against.
  • A WordPress admin you can upload a plugin zip into.
  • A DeepL or Google Cloud Translation API key. Nothing translates until one is connected.

The first visitor to a language that still has unstored strings waits on that provider, then the result is saved. Later visitors for those strings are served from your database. Use Tools → Pretranslate if you do not want the first person to wait. See Translate a site.

Download the zip

  1. Open the account page.
  2. Enter the email you used at checkout. We send a sign-in link that expires in 15 minutes.
  3. After you are in, download the plugin zip.

The zip is not listed on a public releases page. Only a signed-in customer with a license can download it.

Upload in WordPress

  1. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  2. Choose the zip you downloaded and install it.
  3. Activate the plugin.

Then activate your license so the site can validate and receive updates. After that, get a DeepL or Google API key - LocaleReady will not translate until one is connected.

Updates after install

Once the license is active, WordPress update checks use our licensing API. Only a live release is offered. Pending uploads (from the plugin repo into CloudCatch) stay off the update list until someone promotes them.
